Michael Elkins’ versatility on the wrestling mat has paid off as the Christian County senior signed to wrestle at Lindsey Wilson College Wednesday.
Elkins wrestled for the Colonels for five years, capped off with a runner-up finish after dropping to the 195-pound class from heavyweight as a junior. His career record was 47-42, which included two trips to the state wrestling tournament.
While Elkins says wrestling is important to him, he added that he wants to be the first person in his family to get a college degree.
Elkins joins a Lindsey Wilson program that includes former Hopkinsville High wrestler Cameron DeArmond. The Blue Raiders finished as 2019 NAIA runner-ups.
Elkins plans to study business administration at Lindsey Wilson.
