The UHA Blazers appear to be getting hot at just the right time in the baseball season. The Blazers picked up their sixth win in a row Thursday evening, as they went on the road and came away with a 14-0 four inning win over Russellville.
Luke Welch and Tanner Thomas combined to limit the Panthers to just one hit over the course of the four innings. The two hurlers struck out nine, while walking only three.
On offense, the Blazers scored in all four innings, but it was the 10 run top of the 4th that put the game away. Russellville had trouble on defense all night long, committing seven errors, including three in the fourth inning.
Luke Welch was 2-4, with an RBI, and a run scored. Dustin Moon ended up 1-2, with two RBIs, and two runs scored. Tanner Thomas went 1-3, with an RBI, and three runs scored. Dan Johnson was 2-3, with an RBI, and a run scored.
UHA will finish out the regular season Saturday when they go on the road to take on Graves County. The Blazers will open 8th District play Monday at home, when they take on Hopkinsville.
