The Lyon County boys relay teams earned top-five finishes in two events to highlight the Lyons’ day at the Region 1 Class A track & field meet at Murray High School on Saturday.
The team of Ethan Jackson, Jeremy Gonzales, Haden Pollard and Michael Cox took 4th in the 4×400 with a time of 3:53.48, while Cole Schroeder replaced Cox to help the team to a 5th-place showing in the 4×200 with a time of 1:40.79.
Cox also finished 9th in the 100M with a 13:18, followed by Zach Riechart in 14th with a 14.04. Cox was 10th in the 200M at 26.70, while Tysen Glover came in 11th in the 800M with a time of 2:39.49.
Schroeder finished 10th in the long jump with a distance of 16-05.00 and Jeremiah Wilkerson came in 11th in the discus with a 82-03.00.
For the girls, freshman Leanna Odom was the lone participant, finishing 14th in the shot put with a distance of 14-11.50.
