For three innings Monday evening, Christian County’s Riley Hancock was as good in the circle as she could be. Hancock struck out all nine batters she faced, as the Lady Colonels cruised by Fort Campbell 17-0 in an 8th District tournament semifinal game at University Heights Academy.
The Lady Colonels spent half an hour at bat during the bottom of the first inning, as they jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first inning and effectively put the game away. In their only other at bat in the bottom of the 2nd inning, the Lady Colonels added five more runs to get to the 15 run rule to end the game after the top of the 3rd.
Emmy Blane led Christian County going 3-3, with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored. Hope Jones ended up 1-1, with a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Taylor Shemwell finished 2-2, with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.
The Christian County Lady Colonels head back to the 8th District title game, where they will face Hopkinsville Tuesday evening at UHA.
