Todd County Central had trouble solving the pitching of Franklin-Simpson’s Brock Hastings and saw their baseball season end with an 11-1 loss to the Wildcats Monday in the 13th District semifinals at Logan County.
The junior scattered six hits and struck out eight while walking just one batter in picking up the complete game win for Franklin-Simpson (19-18), who have won 23 straight games against the Rebels.
Todd County’s run came in the third inning when Bryce Nolan singled and scored on an Austin Rager double. Nolan finished with two of Todd County’s six hits in the game. Tanner Farmer also had a double for Todd County, whose season ends with a record of 5-11.
Franklin-Simpson will play Logan County for the championship Tuesday.
