The Hopkinsville Tigers clawed back from a 9-1 deficit after five innings on Tuesday night at UHA, hanging six runs on the Christian County Colonels in the sixth inning to pull to within two. However, the Colonels responded by pushing two across in the bottom of the inning and kept the Tigers off the bases in the top of the seventh to claim their fifth-straight 8th-District title.
Afterward, Hopkinsville coach Blake Leach said the Tigers can build on their late rally against the Colonels, but felt his team made things difficult for itself with too many mistakes.
