Matt McMain has announced his resignation as Trigg County track and field coach after two years at the helm. McMain made the announcement at the team’s annual banquet Thursday.
McMain helped restore some of the numbers for the program, which has not sustained a consistent level of success since moving up to Class 2A at the start of the decade.
The highlight of the past two seasons was sophomore Jaquellus Martin’s fifth place finish at the Class 2A State Meet, which was Trigg’s first team points in five years.
McMain and his wife Toree celebrated the birth of their first child last month. Toree resigned as softball coach last week after five seasons, and the couple have put their Trigg County home up for sale.
