Trigg County pitcher Hannah Colbert has been named Class 2A All-State Honorable Mention by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.

Colbert, who will be headed off to John A. Logan College in the fall, leaves Trigg County as the school’s career leader in pitching wins, strikeouts, and complete games. She is also the school’s all-time home run leader on offense.

She was 16-14 for the Lady Wildcats in 2019 with a 1.50 ERA. She struck out 236 batters in 253 innings. At the plate, she hit .289 with two home runs and 17 RBIs.

Colbert was a Second Team selection last year and is the only Trigg County softball player to earn All-State honors. She joins Webster County’s Karlie Keeney (First Team) and Caldwell County’s Katie Franklin (Honorable Mention) as players from the Second Region named to the All-State squads.

Warren East’s Katie Gardner was named Kentucky Miss Softball, while Boyle County’s Katy Grace Chadwell was named Class 2A Player of the Year. The Warren East coaches were named Class 2A Coaching Staff of the Year.

While the KHSAA does not classify softball by size, the KSCA separates schools by size for the purpose of their postseason awards. Players must play for a KSCA member school to be eligible for the all-state awards.
