Lyon County Post 68 made a 3-run third inning stand up in a 4-1 win over Rockport Post 254 Sunday in the final game of the Chappel Allen Invitational at Lee Jones Park in Eddyville.
Gabe Board and Davis Corbett had singles during the third inning with Corbett’s run-scoring hit breaking a 1-1 tie.
Board and Cameron Dean each finished with a pair of hits for the Aces, who improved to 4-2 on the season.
Cameron Head pitched a complete game four-hitter, allowing one run and striking out five.
Earlier in the day, Shelbyville Post 37 rapped out 13 hits and used a 7-run second inning to hand the Aces a 12-6 setback.
Each team sent three balls over the fence for home runs, but Post 37 had eight doubles in the contest as 11 of their 13 hits went for extra bases.
Davin McGee had two hits for Post 68, while Drew Cooper, Davis Corbett, and Michael Thomason each had home runs.
Post 68 will host Cape Girardeau Post 63 Friday at Lee Jones Park in Eddyville.
