Gavin Fowler wanted to go to a college where he felt wanted and where he could play basketball. In Welch College, the Heritage Christian Academy graduate feels like he has found both.
Fowler signed his letter to play for Welch Wednesday afternoon at HCA. He is the second HCA basketball player in as many seasons to sign with the Gallatin, Tennessee school, joining Hope Flournoy who finished her freshman season with the Lady Flames this year.
Fowler averaged 15 points a game for the Warriors as a senior, helping HCA advance to the championship game of the Kentucky Christian Athletic Association Tournament. He was named to the KCAA All-State Team and the all-tournament team during the postseason and was named to the KCAA All-Star Game where he scored 10 points.
Fowler also passed the 1,000-point mark at HCA during his senior season. He was named to the KCAA All-State Tournament in both his sophomore and freshman seasons and played in the KCAA All-Star Game both seasons as well.
Welch College is a private four-year college that competes athletically in the National Christian College Athletic Association
