Fresh off a weekend at the Bluegrass State Games that saw University Heights Academy outscore their opponents 23-1 in picking up three wins, the Lady Blazers found the goals tougher to come by in a 3-0 loss to Graves County Thursday at the Paducah Tilghman Jamboree. UHA won their nightcap 5-1 over St. Mary.
Graves County struck quick as Hannah Elliott scored two minutes into the scrimmage. Ellie Carter added Graves’ second goal eight minutes later for a 2-0 lead.
UHA got some decent looks at the goal in the first half, but Graves controlled the midfield for much of the second half. Elliott scored her second goal of the game in the 44th minutes for the final margin.
In the nightcap, Grace Pape notched a hat trick as the Lady Blazers scored a 5-1 win over the Lady Vikings. Ashlyn Parker and Molly Bennett also scored for UHA.
