Two early goals by Ohio County were just enough for the Eagles to remain unbeaten on the season and hand Christian County a 2-1 setback Monday at the Stadium of Champions.
Ohio County (5-0) scored twice in the game’s first 15 minutes and kept the Colonels off the scoreboard for the remainder of the half.
With 20 minutes left in the game, Benito Rubio assisted Yeffrey Macario for the Colonels’ lone goal of the game. Christian County got a couple of good looks late but could not find the net.
For Christian County, they fell to 1-4 on the season. Three of their four losses have been decided by 2-1 scores, and all have been by two goals or less.
Christian County gets a week away from the schedule before hosting Hopkins County Central Tuesday, Sept. 3.
