Autumn Bell recorded a first-half hat trick and the Christian County girls’ soccer team pushed aside hosts Trigg County by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday night.  The Lady Wildcats slip to 1-2, while the Lady Colonels earn their second-straight win to move to 2-3 overall.

Bell got behind the Lady Wildcats defense and found the back of the net off an assist from Lily Larkins in the 15th minute, before doubling the advantage four minutes later with help from Lindsey Ahern. Bell completed her hat trick with less than two minutes left in the half to put the Lady Colonels in control at the halftime break.

The Lady Wildcats had begun to put Christian County under some pressure over the second twenty minutes of the opening half, but any hope of a comeback was snuffed out just three minutes after the break when Megan Lacy scored off a Jazzy Larkins pass.

Bell capped her night by assisting Emma Fleming for the Lady Colonels’ 5th goal with just under 25 minutes to play, before the Lady Wildcats finally got on the board when Ashlee Wyatt converted a penalty kick for the final score.

Trigg County will be back on the field on Thursday looking to complete the season sweep of the Todd County Central Lady Rebels.  The Lady Wildcats earned a narrow 2-1 victory two weeks ago in Elkton.

The Lady Colonels have a week off before they host an 8th-District showdown with UHA on September 4.
