Former Caldwell County star Jaylen Boyd rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown Thursday night as Lindsey Wilson College defeated Campbellsville 40-24 in the Battle of Highway 55.
Boyd carried the ball 13 times at Blue Raider Stadium in Columbia.
It was Lindsey Wilson’s seventh straight season-opening win. The Blue Raiders have taken four in a row against Campbellsville.
Boyd, a junior, scored his touchdown on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Boyd is third on Caldwell’s career rushing list with 5,451 yards.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Sept. 7 when they welcome Point (Ga.) to Blue Raider stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.
