While it was not exactly the outcome the Christian County Colonels were looking for Tuesday evening, they did put an end to a two match losing streak. First half goals by each team held up for the rest of the match as the Colonels and the Hopkins Central Storm played to a 1-1 tie at the Stadium of Champions.
The Colonels found the net at the 11:00 mark to take an early 1-0 lead. Kenton Lancaster scored off an assist from Benito Rubio to put Christian County in front.
Hopkins Central came back to tie the match at the 26:00 mark when Seth Almon scored to even the match at 1-1.
From that point on, the defenses took over the match. The first half ended 1-1, and nothing changed once the second half got underway.
With the tie, Christian County moves to 1-4-1 on the season. The Colonels return to action Thursday when they square off against crosstown rival Hopkinsville at the Stadium.
