Two days after watching his team give up eight goals in the first half against University Heights Academy in an 11-1 loss, Falcon coach Michael Massie liked the improvement he saw Thursday in a 4-0 loss to Marshall County Thursday on post.
The Marshals scored two goals in each half, but the Falcon defense was able to contest most of the shots the visitors from the First Region took in the contest.
The game was scoreless for the first 28 minutes until William Lynch nailed a shot from 25 yards out for a 1-0 Marshal lead. Marshall County added their second goal of the half eight minutes later when Collin Riley got loose in front and scored for a 2-0 lead the Marshals took into intermission
Eric Hicks scored a pair of goals in the second half to seal Marshall County’s ninth win in 11 games this season.
Fort Campbell dropped to 2-7 on the season and will look to get back on the winning track Tuesday when they host Caldwell County at Fryar Stadium.
