Saturday wasn’t a great day on the pitch for the Christian County boys soccer team, with losses to Campbell County and Apollo by a combined score of 15-2.  However, on Sunday the Colonels regrouped and went toe-to-toe with Marion County over eighty minutes, before being undone by a late own-goal to fall 1-0 and close the tournament at 0-3.

Goalkeeper Josh Settle was busy throughout, but the Colonel defense held firm.  They also had their fair share of the ball and Benito Rubio was dangerous up top, but the breakthrough never came.  Instead, with just 7:30 to play and following a scramble in front of the goal, a Christian County defender attempted to clear the ball off the line but could only steer it into his own net.

The Colonels are winless in their last seven games and slip to 1-8-1 on the year with an important 8th-District tilt with UHA coming up on Thursday.
