Hopkinsville was looking for their first win over Marshall County in four years Thursday but left Draffenville with a scoreless tie against. It was Hoptown’s first 0-0 contest since a Sept. 16, 2010 match against Todd County Central.
The shutout is Hopkinsville’s third of the season, and the tie snaps a stretch of five straight games of alternating wins and losses for the Tigers (7-4-1).
For Marshall County (10-2-2), it was their second tie in three matches and first 0-0 contest in nine seasons.
Hopkinsville will play at Henderson County Tuesday in a showdown of the top two teams in the region. The Tigers haven’t lost to a region team in 40 straight matches which includes three ties.
