University Heights Academy saw a pair of runners set new personal best times Saturday and a third finish in the top two of his race at the Muhlenberg County Mustang Stampede Cross Country Invitational.
Walter Kunnmann came in under the 18-minute mark with a time of 17:53, good for 21st place. Chase Hendricks was a half-second from dipping under the 20-minute mark, which saw him place 56th.
Silas Winders of Henry County, Tenn. won the race in an incredible time of 14:52 over 3.1 miles. Jonah Mitchell of Muhlenberg County, last year’s Class 3A state runner-up, was second in 15:15.
In the middle school race, Tobias Duncan finished second out of 52 runners with a time of 13:33 over the 4K course.
