While a young Christian County Lady Colonels volleyball team has taken their lumps at times this season against some tough competition, the learning experiences from those matches appears to be paying some dividends. The Lady Colonels picked up their 3rd win in their last four matches with a straight set win Monday night over Trigg County.
In the opening set, Christian County jumped out to a 10-3 lead over the Lady Wildcats. The Lady Colonels kept things rolling through the rest of the first set, winning by a score of 25-14.
While the Lady Colonels were solid in the first set, they were dominating in the second. Christian County opened the second set scoring the first 7 points of the set. The Lady Colonels would add another 7-0 run later in the set, and cruised on out to win the set 25-4.
The third set was much like the opening set of the night. Holding a 4-3 lead, the Lady Colonels ripped off six in a row to go up 10-4. From that point, Christian County rolled on to close out the set, and the match, by a score of 25-13.
Several Lady Colonels had big nights, led by Macy Baker, who had 10 kills in the match.
Christian County improves to 8-10 on the season, while Trigg County falls to 0-14.
