Todd County Central was five points away from claiming a five-set win at Hopkins County Central Monday only to see the Lady Storm outscore them 10-2 down the stretch and steal one from the win column from the Lady Rebels.
Todd dropped the first set 25-21 but rallied to win the second set 28-26. Hopkins Central took the third set 25-21 and appeared on their way to a four-set win. The Lady Rebels won the fourth set 25-20, but the Lady Storm rallied for the 15-12 win the deciding set.
Lucy Chester had a big night for the Lady Rebels with 15 kills, 9 digs, and 6 aces on the night. Presley Conquest added 14 kills and four aces. Brylee Shemwell had 30 assists and three aces.
Meredith Drummond had 17 digs and three of Todd County’s 22 aces in the match.
Todd dropped to 2-2 in five-set matches. They were 0-3 in those matches last year.
Todd County Central (7-12) will host Logan County Tuesday in a 13th District showdown at Rebel Gym.
