McCracken Continues Hoptown’s Scoring Woes With 2-0 Win

9-19-bryant

Hopkinsville is finding goals tough to come by, but their defense has done a good job of keeping them in matches. McCracken County’s Dylan Deweese scored a goal in each half to help hand Hopkinsville a 2-0 setback at the Stadium of Champions.

The shutout is the third straight for the Tigers, who tied Marshall County 0-0 and lost to Henderson County and McCracken County. Those teams are a combined 30-7.

It’s the first time Hopkinsville has failed to score in three straight matches since losing to Marshall County, Murray, and Graves County in 2008.

Gavin O’Donley made six saves in goal for the Mustangs, who improved to 8-4-1 with the win.

Hopkinsville had their chances to score thanks to nine corner kicks in the contest. The Tigers had 18 shots with half of those on goal. They could never find the back of the net in dropping to 7-6-1 on the season.

Hoptown will get a chance to snap their skid this weekend when they play Hopkins County Central and Warren Central Saturday in the Christian County Colonel Showcase at the Stadium of Champions.
