It’s not showing up in the win-loss column, but Todd County Central’s boys’ soccer team is showing improvement, especially on the defensive side. One day after giving up two goals in a tie with Lyon County, the Rebels dropped a 1-0 decision to Russellville Tuesday.
Todd County is giving up 4.4 goals per game, which is nearly two goals fewer than each of the last two seasons. Their 13 goals scored has also surpassed the total for the past two seasons. Unfortunately, the Rebels have scored more than two goals just twice this season and none since Aug. 26.
Todd County (1-11-2) will look to avoid getting shutout in district play this year when they host Franklin-Simpson Thursday in Elkton. The Wildcats beat Todd County 5-1 on Sept. 16.
