University Heights defeated Fort Campbell in straight sets Thursday and tied a school record with their seventh straight win. UHA won 25-11, 25-13, 25-15.
The Lady Blazers dominated in the set and spike area of the match, recording 42 kills on the night. Meghan Adams had 15 kills and two aces, and Evelyn Morales added eight kills. Katie Beth Stevens was also strong at the net with eight kills and a block.
Beth Peebles set the table with 31 assists as the Lady Blazers kept the Lady Falcons from piecing together any rallies to get back into the match.
Clarissa Miller had five kills, and Lily Hendricks added four. Morales had seven of UHA’s 17 aces in the match.
UHA improved to 13-2 with their seventh straight victory – tying the school record set at the end of the 2014 season when the Lady Blazers rallied to the region championship match.
The Lady Blazers have also won 12 of their last 13 matches against district opposition.
UHA has a week off from the court and return next Thursday when they host district rival Christian County.
Fort Campbell (3-13) saw their modest two-game win streak end. The Lady Falcons will host Hopkinsville Monday as they look to avoid a No. 4 seed in the district tournament and a potential first round rematch with UHA.
