With an extremely young roster it has been a bit of a tough 2019 season for the Trigg County volleyball team. The Lady Wildcats were at home Monday evening for a 2nd Region matchup with the Hopkins Central Lady Storm.
While a young team in their own right, the Lady Storm still have a bit more experience than the youthful Lady Wildcats, and Central was able to use that experience to their advantage in a straight set win at Wildcat Gym.
Central won the opening set handily 25-13, and then took the second set by a 25-16 score. Trigg County battled back in the third set, but ultimately Hopkins Central closed out the set and the match with a 25-22 win.
For Trigg County, the loss drops them to 1-19 on the season. The Lady Wildcats return to action Tuesday at Crittenden County.
Hopkins Central improves to 8-11.
