Caldwell County alum Jaylen Boyd and Lindsey Wilson College teammate Jared Dougherty were selected as Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Football Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Boyd earned Offensive Player of the Week honors while Dougherty was tabbed as the Special Team’s Player of the Week.
Boyd rushed for 115 yards on nine carries scoring one touchdown in the Blue Raiders 58-3 victory against No. 14 Bethel (Tenn.).
His longest rush in the game went for 63 yards. Boyd averaged 12.8 yards per carry in the game and recorded his fifth career 100-yard rushing game.
The native of Princeton, Ky., earns his first weekly honor this season and the second of his career.
Dougherty scored 10 points in Lindsey Wilson’s win against Bethel. He connected on a 26-yard field goal and made seven extra points in the victory.
Dougherty had one punt for 55 yards and averaged 53.4 yards on 10 kickoffs.
The native of Fort Thomas, Ky., earns his fourth honor this season and the 10th of his career.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12, when they welcome Cumberland (Tenn.) to Blue Raider Stadium in Columbia. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
