Crittenden County’s Lauren Gilchrist has advanced into the second round of the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Tournament at the Bowling Green Country Club.
Gilchrist was steady on the front nine, recording six pars and shooting a 4-over 40. Four pars and two double bogeys dotted the scorecard on the back nine as the Lady Rocket senior came in with a 43. Her round of 11-over 83 has her in a tie for 39th place heading into Wednesday’s second round.
Last year, Gilchrist followed up her first round 81 with an 87 to finish tied for 38th place after missing the cut as a freshman and sophomore.
