It was not a bad way to finish her week at the Girls’ State Golf Tournament. Lyon County freshman Cathryn Brown moved up 11 spots on the second day of the tournament to finish in 12th place.
Brown shot a 4-over par 76 Wednesday, with the round good enough to move her all the way up from 2rd place after the opening round. Brown’s two day total was a 13 over par 157.
Brown finished the event 15 shots behind Boyd County’s Olivia Hensley, who took home the 2019 championship. Brown was just one stroke away from a Top 10 finish.
Her round Wednesday at the Bowling Green Country Club included three birdies, five bogeys and one double bogey.
