Caldwell County High School alum Katie Van Hooser had a big game Saturday for the Bethel University volleyball team.
Van Hooser was a big key with 16 assists and 10 digs as the Bethel Volley Cats blitzed Brewton-Parker (Ga.) 25-18, 25-12, 25-13.
Bethel also swept Middle Georgia State on Friday, winning 25-14, 25-12, 25-17. Van Hooser, a junior at Bethel, had 22 assists in that match.
The Volley Cats are 11-10 overall and 6-2 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
Van Hooser held the school record for set assists at Caldwell County – with 2,073 – before being passed on the Lady Tiger list just last week by Savanna Tays.
Bethel, an NAIA school located in McKenzie, Tenn., resumes play Tuesday hosting rival Freed-Hardeman.
