It was a Senior Night to celebrate. On the night they recognized their seniors for their contributions to the program, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers had one of their best efforts of the season in picking up a four set win over Crittenden County at Tiger Gym.
The first set was close throughout, with Crittenden County leading the early portion of the set. The Lady Rockets were up 14-11, when Hopkinsville went on a 7-0 run to take an 18-14 lead. The Lady Tigers were then able to hold on and take the set 25-21.
In the second set, Hopkinsville took an early 7-3 lead and then kept control of the set. The Lady Tigers were able to keep the Lady Rockets at arms length for the remainder of the set to win it 25-17, and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
The Lady Rockets tried to battle their way back into the match in the 3rd set. Trailing 23-18 and in danger of being swept out of the match, Crittenden County scored the final seven points of the set to win 25-23, and draw within 2 sets to 1.
The 4th set went back and forth from beginning to end. The Lady Tigers were able to draw away at the wire, taking the set 25-22, and winning the match 3 sets to one.
The win improves the Lady Tigers’ record to 10-11 on the season. Hopkinsville wraps up the regular season Thursday evening with a trip to Apollo.
