The question for the 8th District volleyball tournament is can anyone keep the UHA Lady Blazers from going back-to-back. The tournament gets underway Tuesday evening at Hopkinsville High School.

The Lady Blazers enter the tournament as the prohibitive favorite, having gone 6-0 in district play, and 2-0 against district teams in other tournaments over the course of the season. During that run, UHA went 22-1 in sets played, losing one set to Christian County in the Toyota of Hopkinsville Western Kentucky.

UHA is matched up against Fort Campbell in the first semifinal game Tuesday night. The Lady Falcons have seen their share of struggles during the season. The Lady Falcons figure to face a significant uphill battle against the Lady Blazers, who defeated Fort Campbell in staight sets twice, never allowing more than 17 points in a set.

The second semifinal Tuesday night will likely be the highlight match of the evening, as Hopkinsville and Christian County square off for the right to move to the championship game and one to the regional tournament. Hopkinsville won both the matchups during district play in the regular season, but both were battles. The last time the two teams met, the match went the full distance with Hopkinsville pulling it out in the 5th set.

Either team figures to have their hands full with UHA should the Lady Blazers take down Fort Campbell as expected in the other semifinal match.

Semifinal times Tuesday are 5:30pm, and 7pm. Championship match is set for 6:30pm Thursday.
