Heritage Christian Academy opens play in the KCAA State Volleyball Tournament Friday as the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed Somerset Christian in the first round.
HCA enters the tourney with a 20-13 record and riding an eight-game winning streak after winning their 15th straight region title.
The Lady Warriors were 7-6 in KCAA play, which included a 25-14, 25-10 loss to Somerset Christian on Sept. 21. Somerset was the No. 1 team in the KCAA a month ago but slipped to second after they were defeated in their region championship by Trinity Christian, who moved into the three-seed.
North Hardin Christian is the tourney’s top seed and a potential second round opponent for HCA Friday night. The state tourney is being played at West Jessamine High School in Nicholasville.
