It looks like a pair of Lyon County basketball players made a big impression on one well known basketball scout over the weekend. The Lyons made the trip to Jefferson County to take part in the King of the Bluegrass Jamboree at Fairdale High School, which is also home to the well known King of the Bluegrass tournament which takes place during the holiday season.
Among those there to check out the talent at the exhibition showcase was Rick Bolus. Bolus is considered by many to be one of the nation’s top prep basketball gurus.
After the event, Bolus published his list of best players from the event. Bolus listed two players from the 2nd Region as among the top five players at the jamboree. Travis Perry, from Lyon County, and Kale Gaither, of Union County, were among the five players Bolus placed at the top of the list.
Perry was listed by Bolus as the best 8th grader at the event. His Lyon County teammate Gunnar Bingham was listed by Bolus as the best shooter he saw at the jamboree.
