Trigg County freshman Austin Cavanaugh brought home the school’s first top 10 finish in 33 years at the state cross country meet earlier this month and as a result was named to the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Area 1 Cross Country Team.
The All Area team covers Region I runners in all three classes. Cavanaugh was also named to the Class 2A First Team.
Riley Thompson and Marshall Jenkins were both named to the Class 2A Second Team with Thompson also named to the All Area Middle School Second Team.
For the ladies, Trigg County Coach Ken Harrison was named the Area 1 Girls’ Coach of the Year and the Class 2A Coach of the Year.
Riley Brame and Reese Bush were both named to the Class 2A First Team and Middle School Second Team.
DeDe Barbee, Lexi Ricks, and Grace Hill were all named to the Class 2A Second Team.
