After Kentucky piled up over 400 yards rushing the last two games, the UK offensive line has been getting a lot more national attention. It started when the Cats turned to Lynn Bowden at quarterback and basically have become a one-dimensional running team led by Bowden, who has five 100-yard rushing games in the six games he’s started — and the other one was 99 yards.

Senior guard Logan Stenberg is being projected as a definite future NFL player and likely high pick in next year’s NFL draft.

“Logan, mainstay, for years and years. No question. With running the football, you better be physical, and you better be tough inside,” Kentucky coach mark Stoops said. “Logan has meant an awful lot to us.

“He really plays exceptionally hard and he’s very, very physical. He’s been very bright, and he’s done a lot of good things for us.”

He has but he’s also been called for a lot of penalties, including numerous personal fouls. Some have come at costly times for UK even though offensive line coach John Schlarman has tried to tone down Stenberg’s aggressiveness this season.

” If I thought there was a lot of selfish intent, then we would have a bigger problem than we do,” Stoops said about the penalties. “A lot of times, that’s not the case. He understands that.

“He does not want to hurt this football team at all, in any way, shape or form. He’s not selfish, but he plays extremely nasty on every play. He finishes blocks and he plays hard. I’ll take that any day.

“If there’s issues, not to say that there wasn’t ever any one or two through the years, we’ve addressed them. He understands that. He takes the coaching and moves on. He’s very unselfish.”
