Mustangs Gallop Past Caldwell in 4th Quarter

Caldwell County is still looking for its first win after dropping a 54-46 decision to Muhlenberg County Friday night in Princeton.

Like its first four games, Caldwell had chances against the Mustangs.

The Tigers (0-5) took a 20-18 lead to halftime against the Mustangs (4-1).

The game was tied at 29-29 before Muhlenberg took a 31-29 advantage to the fourth quarter.

But the visiting Mustangs grabbed the upper hand in the final frame, eventually building a double-digit lead before holding on for the eight-point victory.

Trey Lovell had 17 points and Nash Divine added 13 for Muhlenberg.

Adarius Riey led Caldwell with 15 points while Cayden Fraliex had nine.

The Tigers have a busy week coming up, with four games in five days. Caldwell hosts Todd County Central on Tuesday before going to Dawson Springs Thursday. The Tigers will play at home Friday against Russellville. Caldwell finishes the week with a trip to Union County next Saturday afternoon.
