Four Panthers scored in double figures as Dawson Springs beat Hopkins County Central 66-61 Friday night.
It was the Panthers’ first win over the Storm since the semifinals of the 2017 7th District tournament.
Hopkins Central, which had taken four straight from Dawson Springs, held a 37-32 advantage at halftime Friday at Panther Gym.
But Dawson Springs (3-3 overall, 1-0 district) went up 50-48 through three quarters and went on to win by five points.
Landon Pace netted 19 points to lead the Panthers while Skyler Clark and Dylan Dawson each scored 17. Braxton Cotton added 13 points.
Hopkins Central (0-5, 0-1) had five players score in double figures. John Miller had 13 points while Sam Almon and Trevor Weldon each scored 11. Blasin Moore and Marcus Eaves tallied 10 points apiece.
The district foes will square off again Jan. 31 in Mortons Gap.
