Caldwell County’s wrestlers went 2-2-1 in action at the Benton, Ill., Dual Tournament on Saturday.
The Tiger matmen defeated Harrisburg, Ill. 46-21 and beat West Frankfort Ill. 48-24. Caldwell and Benton, Ill. wrestled to a 42-42 deadlock.
The Tigers fell to Camp Point Central (Ill.) 51-26 and lost to Unity High School of Tolono, Ill. 57-19.
Against Harrisburg, Cofy Harris (113 pounds), Riley Johnson (120), Dylan Walls (132), Blaine Hicks (138), Eathan Newsom (145) Colin Walls (160), and John Paredes (170) all won by pins by Collin Teutsch (106) won by decision for the Tigers, who did not have wrestlers in five weight classes.
In the West Frankfort match, Collin Teutsch, Johnson, Dylan Walls, Hicks, Newsom and Sam Teutsch (195) all won by pins.
In the tie with Benton, Caldwell got pinfalls from Collin Teutsch, Harris, Johnson, Dylan Walls, Hicks, Colin Walls and Paredes.
Against Camp Point Central, Collin Teutsch, Johnson and Sam Teutsch won by pin. Dylan Walls won by techical fall and Paredes won by decision.
In the match against Unity, Collin Teutsch and Johnson picked up pins while Dylan Walls and Hicks won by decision.
Caldwell’s wrestlers are scheduled to go to Union County on Thursday.
Caldwell will host its annual Armstrong Tiger Classic on Saturday at the CAB gym in Princeton.
