Darell Keith is on the move after two years as Todd County Central football coach. Keith was introduced as the next head football coach at Clinton, Tenn. Tuesday morning at the school. The Anderson County School System made the announcement on social media.
Keith was 11-11 in two seasons as Rebel skipper, leading Todd County to their second winning season in three years. The Rebels were 6-5 in 2019, with Keith named the Class 2A, District 2 coach of the year by the state football coaches association.
Keith employed a run-first philosophy that saw the Rebels rush for 285 yards a game that ranked third in Kentucky among Class 2A schools. Keith also helped spearhead the improvement of the facilities at the stadium and weightroom in his two years in Elkton.
Keith inherits a Clinton High team that is located northwest of Knoxville and competes in Class 5A. The Dragons were 2-8 in 2019 and have not had a winning season since 2014. Keith replaced Randy McKamey who resigned last month after an 8-23 record in three seasons.
