Lady Blazers Roll Fort Campbell in 8th-District Opener

The UHA girls’ basketball team jumped out to a 10-0 lead and cruised past visiting Fort Campbell on Tuesday night, knocking off the Lady Falcons 58-10.  The Lady Blazers even their record at 3-3, while Fort Campbell slips to 0-6, 0-2 in district play.

Lily Hendricks scored 6 points and the Lady Blazers led 18-4 after the first quarter.  The Lady Falcons were shutout in the second and UHA’s Meghan Adams put up 10 points and controlled the backboard for a 39-4 halftime advantage.

With a running clock in the second half, neither team did much scoring, combining for only 7 third-quarter points.  7th-grader Alecia Davis scored 4 points over the final 8 minutes to help the Lady Blazers to their 26th-straight win over the Lady Falcons, dating back to the 2006/7 season.

Adams led all scorers with 16, while Hendricks scored 12 in the first half and finished with 14.  Annabelle Ko connected on the Lady Falcons only 3-pointer, with Arianna McDaniel also finishing with 3 points.

UHA held a 48-17 rebounding advantage, with 33 coming on the offensive glass.
