Cam Jordan became the first Trigg County High athlete in 33 years to sign a letter to play at a U.S. Service Academy Wednesday when he signed with the U.S. Naval Academy to continue his football career.

Jordan had received interest from two other service academies and a handful of traditional schools before deciding on Navy.

Jordan finished his high school career second on the all-time passing list with 4,400 yards. He holds the school record for completions in a game (25) and is second in career completions (318) and tied for third in passing touchdowns (43).

In three seasons as quarterback, Jordan accounted for 87 total touchdowns. He rushed for 2,073 yards and 42 touchdowns at the quarterback spot. In 2019, he threw for 1,857 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 623 yards and 18 scores. He was named All-Western Kentucky Conference and the Kentucky Coaches’ Class 3A District 1 Player of the Year.

The Navy will play 100% of Jordan’s tuition, room and board, medical and dental care costs at the Naval Academy. Upon graduation, Jordan will serve five years of active duty.

The last Trigg athlete to sign with a U.S. Service Academy was Ginger Wallace, who played basketball at the Air Force Academy in the late 1980s.
