Jaylen Boyd picked up another national honor on Friday, as the junior was named to the Associated Press NAIA All-America team.
The former Caldwell County standout adds the accolade to his American Football Coaches Association All-America team honors announced earlier this month. The Princeton, Ky., native also earned Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division First Team honors for his play during the season.
Boyd was selected as the first-team all-purpose athlete. He becomes the third Blue Raider to earn the honor and the fourth time a Lindsey Wilson football student-athlete picked up the honor.
Boyd rushed for 1,119 yards this season – becoming just the third Blue Raider to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in a single season. He also amassed 390 receiving yards and 330 kickoff return yards this season with 16 touchdowns.
Boyd ranks second in the NAIA with 1,839 all-purpose yards. He is ninth in the NAIA in scoring (96 points) and 10th in all-purpose yards per game (141.5).
