Caldwell County went 3-2 in its own Armstrong Tiger Classic dual wrestling tournament on Saturday.
Caldwell picked up big wins over Christian County, Hopkinsville and Owensboro. The Tigers beat the Colonels 55-12, downed Hoptown 59-12 and routed the Red Devils 60-18.
Caldwell dropped a narrow 36-35 decision to John Hardin and also fell to McCracken County 43-34.
Against Christian County, Collin Teutsch (106 pounds), Cofy Harris (113), Riley Johnson (126), Blaine Hicks (138), Colin Walls (160) and Sam Teutsch (195) all won by pin. Dylan Walls (132), Eathan Newsom (145) and John Paredes (170) all claimed decisions for the Tigers.
In the victory over Hopkinsville, pins were recorded by Harris, Johnson, Dylan Walls, Hicks, Newsom, Cole Sherrill (182), Sam Teutsch and Preston Rogers (285). Claiming decisions were Collin Teutsch, Colin Walls and Paredes.
Winning by pin against Owensboro were Collin Teutsch, Johnson, Dylan Walls, Hicks, Newsom and Paredes. Four Owensboro forfeits helped the Tigers total their 60 points.
In the tight match with John Hardin, Dylan Walls won by pin while Hicks won his match 16-1. Caldwell won four matches by forfeit.
Against McCracken, Harris, Colin Walls, Paredes and Sherrill each won by pin. Collin Teutsch claimed a 12-4 decision in his match.
McCracken County won the championship of the Armstrong Classic. Ohio County was second, followed by John Hardin and Caldwell County.
