
It was a tough offensive outing for the Christian County Colonels Friday in their opening game of the Ashland Invitational. The Colonels were limited to just 23 points over the final three quarters as the Butler Bears rolled to the 54-39 win.
The day actually got off to a pretty good start for the Colonels. With five different players scoring in the opening eight minutes, Christian County took a 16-12 lead. Then the offense hit the wall.
Christian County was limited to four points in the second quarter and just five more in the third. Over that same 16 minute span, Butler put 29 points on the board, giving the Bears a 41-25 lead going into the final quarter.
Butler then kept the Colonels at bay to pick up the 15 point win.
Olajuwon White was the Colonels’ leading scorer, finishing with 13 points. Stephen Bussell added 10 points for Christian County.
Butler was led by Jadon Lamb with 18 points.
The loss drops Christian County to 3-6 on the season.
