
Dawson Springs ran into a tough Bell County team in the first game of the Greenwood Lady Gator Invitational Friday and fell 77-42.
The Lady Cats, out of the 13th Region, jumped out to a 23-11 lead after one quarter and led 41-29 at halftime. Bell County used a 19-5 third quarter run to take control of the contest.
Brooklyn Clark led Dawson Springs with 14 points, and Jalynn Hooper added nine points.
Bell County (8-1) had three players reach double figures, led by Talyah McQueen’s 20 points.
Dawson Springs will play Bath County Friday night at 6. The round-robin event continues Saturday in Bowling Green.
