
Mayfield’s girls pulled off an upset in the first game of the West Kentucky Hoops Classic Friday at the CAB gym in Princeton.
Kyler Henson scored 15 points, Desiree Thomas had 13 and Madison Felts 12 as the Lady Cardinals knocked off Webster County 51-42.
Webster (4-5) played the game without sophomore Raigin Price, who is averaging a double-double this season. Price sat out the contest with an illness.
Still, the Lady Trojans led for most of the first half before Mayfield edged ahead 24-22 at halftime.
The Lady Cardinals (4-3) led for much of the second half, taking their biggest lead with the final nine-point margin.
Marissa Austin led Webster with 15 points. Madison Hinton added nine.
Team MVPs were Thomas for Mayfield and Austin for Webster.
