A pair of Tennessee schools — Memphis Ridgeway and South-Doyle, out of Knoxville — liked playing in Kentucky so much they decided to go two overtimes.
Ridgeway eventually proved victorious, edging South-Doyle 66-63 Friday in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic at the CAB gym in Princeton.
South-Doyle (8-4) missed a runner at the end of regulation to leave the game tied 49-49.
Ridgeway (4-4) had the ball last at the end of the first overtime but had to force up an off-balanced shot at the horn with the contest knotted 57-57.
However, Chantz Foster scored six of his team-high 25 points in the second overtime to help the Roadrunners nip the Cherokees by three points.
Foster was named Ridgeway’s MVP.
Kendrick Holland, who tallied 27 points for South-Doyle, was named the MVP for the Cherokees.
