
Trigg County lagged in the odd quarters, and that was enough for Trenton-Peabody, Tenn. to claim a 68-49 win over the Wildcats in the consolation round of the 55th Martin Lion’s Club Christmas Tournament.
Peabody outscored Trigg 19-11 in the first quarter and 14-5 in the third quarter. That proved to be the major difference in the game.
One night after getting to the free throw line just eight times, the Wildcats were 16-of-24 on Friday. Trigg did not hit a 3-pointer in the game.
Kendric Adams scored a season-high 21 points to lead the Wildcats. He was 9-of-12 at the free throw line. Jordan Miles added 14 points.
The loss was Trigg’s sixth straight. They have allowed 60 or more points in all six losses. Their offense failed to reach 53 points for the third straight game.
Trigg County will try and break out of their funk Saturday when they wrap up play in the Martin tournament against Greenfield, Tenn. at 2:30.
