The Christian County boys’ basketball team dropped a second game in as many days at the Ashland Invitational at Ashland Blazer, falling 55-47 to Scott County on Saturday.
Scott County held the Colonels to only 4 first-quarter points while Terrin Hamilton scored 7 to give the Cardinals a 10-point advantage after one.
Christian County’s Olajuwon White answered with 7 points of his own in the second, but the Colonels were still outscored 16-13 and trailed 30-17 at halftime.
The Colonels flexed their defensive muscles after the break, limiting Scott County to only 7 p0ints in the third. Qua Chambers and Kobe Dillard combined for 9 for Christian County, shaving 11 points off the deficit with a quarter to play.
White came back to life with 6 points over the final eight minutes, but Hamilton matched his output and the Cardinals held off the Colonels for a 6-point win.
