
University Heights wrapped up play Sunday at the Lake Cumberland Hoops Classic with a 71-59 win over Sullivan East of Bluff City, Tenn.
UHA turned a 14-10 deficit after one quarter into a 32-27 halftime lead as six different Blazers found the scorebook in the quarter.
The Patriots cut the UHA lead to 52-51 after three quarters. The Blazers hit 9-of-14 free throws in the fourth quarter and held Sullivan East to eight points in the quarter to escape with the 12-point win.
K.J. Crump scored 11 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, which included 5-of-6 at the free throw line in the frame. D.J. Quarles added 15 points, and Noah Shouse hit three of UHA’s seven 3-pointers to finish with nine points.
The Blazers (5-7) won two of three games in their pool at the 13-team event hosted by the high schools in Somerset and Pulaski County.
UHA returns to action Sunday afternoon at McCracken County’s Mustang Madness against Paducah Tilghman.
